Abuja, Nigeria – Mediaage NG News – Country Marketing Manager, ALX Nigeria, Seun Babajide at the just concluded Digital Nigeria Conference in Abuja, said the tech company is ready to be part of digital revolution in Nigeria.
She said ALX Nigeria, born out of ALX Africa, in collaboration with MasterCard, is empowering Nigerians between the age of 17-34 in areas of tech, such as software engineering, data analytics, AWS Cloud Computing and Introduction to Software Engineering, a program introduced by the organisation.
“We understand the gap and we trying to make sure that our Nigerian youth are meeting up with the standards required in the western world with tech skills”, she said.
“We are also trying to get the attention of the government looking for how to create skills acquisition in technology in each of the states in the country. We are trying to get their attention to let them know what we can do. We are ready to be a part of digital revolution in Nigeria.
The Country Marketing Manager further said currently, ALX has over 120,000 community members cut across the thirty-six states of the nation. In Lagos alone, it has up to eleven hubs where it attends to over five thousand learners and it is done in all the states as well.
“Our community is a striving one and we have a very impactful and community support that where any of our learners, as long as they successfully complete any of our programs, have the job support. We don’t promise them jobs but, job readiness skills to be able to have that job interview and hopefully get that fintech job that they need.
“We have a lot of mentorship sessions as well, where we bring experts that are currently in these roles where our programs are. They can tell and share their experiences with them. It creates a kind of inspiration for the youth”, she said.
