Yola, July 31 (Mediaage NG News) – The Governor Adamawa state, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has declared a 24-hour curfew after hundreds of persons broke into stores and warehouses, looting food and other edibles.
They were captured on video, breaking into warehouses, carrying off sacks of grain, cartons of pasta and other household items.
On the orders of Governor, security personnel have been deployed to enforce the curfew.Last month, the federal government ended removed fuel subsidy but, this has led to soaring food and petrol prices.
The Nigerian economy has also been weakened by recession and the ongoing fallout from the Covid pandemic.
