– Edo state Commissioner for Digital Economy, Hon. Ogbeide Ifaluyi-isibor has revealed that the state ranks top in ICT and Digital Governance in the country.
He revealed this at the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in Lagos where a workshop was organized for State Commissioners across Nigeria, MDs of State ICT Agencies to discuss ways of improving digital transformation in all states across the country. Solutions to challenges faced were also deliberated.
“We are about the only state that has gone paperless in our government processes, the Commissioner said.
“Some states are centuries behind on this. With our almost 80% e-government compliance in the civil and public service, we lead all other states.
“While many states are trying to negotiate with Galaxy Backbone, the Nations Data center for web hosting and stuff, Edo State has a tier 3 State-of-the-art Data center with over 1.5 pentabyte data storage space with a 99.999% efficiency level”, Hon. Ifaluyi-isibor said.
Many he said asked how the state has been able to go about its different initiatives and been able to keep up with the minimum wage of ₦40,000 for workers, citing the EdoBest program as one of the prime examples.
He said it propelled the thoughts of hosting State Commissioners across the country to Benin City, the state capital to learn more and improve their respective state ministries.
