Future Focus Foundation recently signed an agreement with the District Head of Kawu, Bwari Area Council for Project Light Up Communities (PLUC) aimed at providing electricity for selected communities.

WHY KAWU?
Future Focus Foundation organized a comprehensive outreach program to GSS Kawu which is a 3hours drive from Urban area, aiming to enhance the educational experience for these young minds. Their feedback “the founder of the foundation narrated” echoed a sense of gratitude and appreciation for the thoughtful intervention.

While the impact of this outreach was significant, we believe there is even more that can be achieved as the Community at large is without electricity, depriving these Children from maximizing their childhood and potentials.

How can NGO’s like ours confidently donate laptops to schools like GSS Kawu? They will not be able to use some learning materials like their peers in town without electricity. This is the most basic requirement for the Gen Z’s. These ones as we speak are way behind and we need to do something about it. Amongst other reasons.

By expanding our efforts, we can provide more resources, implement sustainable programs and contribute to a lasting transformation in the lives of these children and their community(s) Chevonne Jibromah said on Monday 24th June, 2024.

So, we are here today to do a feasibility study securing some Hectares of Land at the most appropriate spot for the Mini Grids and Solar Panels that we will bring to this community to begin with”, she stated.

Ms. Chevonne Jibromah on the day of signing the agreement papers with Kawu Community also said the planned arrangement will make it easy for the community residents to access electricity.

“Signing this document means that work has commenced today the 24th June 2024. There is an exclusivity period for Future Focus Foundation (Project Light Up Communities), and if we are still working at the end of the exclusivity period, it will be extended. That’s how it works”, she added.

The District Head of Kawu, Alhaji Ali Danjuma, alongside the Village Head, Alhaji Yusuf Sarki described the project as a laudable one.

“As the Foundation is taking care of marginalized communities, look throughout the country, you will always find one or two of this kind of communities where there is no electricity. Providing solar energy source for the community, in the absence of electricity makes this a laudable project”, the traditional ruler concluded.

We are sincerely grateful to God for making this possible. A big thank you to all those involved in putting this together for Kawu and subsequently other communities to thrive “We will mention names where appropriate going forward” God bless you. Chevonne Jibromah said.
