Abuja, August 16 – ( Mediaage NG News) – Following talks between Google’s Director for West Africa, Olumide Balogun, and Nigeria’s Vice-President, Kashim Shettima, in Abuja, US company, Google said it has mapped out plans to train 20,000 Nigerian women and young persons in digital skills to support the Nigerian government targets of creating one million tech jobs.
The firm also said it would donate $1.6m (£1.26m).
Welcoming the announcement, Mr Shettima said President Bola Tinubu’s administration was determined to harness the potential of Nigeria’s young population to grow the digital sector.
No firm timeline has been set for the plans.
