A member of Nigeria’s House of Representative, Honorable Prince Odianosen Okojie has said serving the interest of his people remains the core of his political pursuit.

The Honorable Member Representing Esan North East and South East Federal Constituency of Edo State made this known during an interview with pressmen on Friday.

Prince Okojie attributed the winning of the last election to his people and the love they have for him.

“Since 1999, the APC has not won any election in my constituency, I won this election not because I have been in any political office, but out of pure love from my people, they came out in large number to support me.

“For one to be able to go far in politics, you need the support of your people, my people and I are one and we have a good understanding, that is why I will do everything within my power, to work for my people to give them the dividends of democracy,” he explained.

Hon Okojie emphasized, that amongst other things he plans to prioritize, providing good roads, water, subsidized health care system, and provide petty trade money for his community.

“Before I got elected, my foundation normally provide money to subsidize health bill and also give out petty trade money to start up small businesses.

I am passionate about my people and I am in Abuja to work for them. As a matter of fact, I installed solar energy in some streets as a personal project and I intend to do more to light up my community using the this platform”, he said.

The house of Rep member applauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his policies and decisions. According to him, these policies and decisions are timely and cogent.

Hon Okojie cited the 500 billion Naira provided for palliative as one the President’s numerous policies that are on a run on the right track.

“Though the money is small, because Nigerians deserve better, but at least it will help to cushion the biting effect s of the subsidy removal that is affecting everybody. He strongly affirmed his trust on the Bola Tinubu lead regime, he said, that with the capable hands working with the president, he is sure the palliative would get to the people in need of it and the vulnerable Nigerians.

“I just love this president and can’t love him less, you have seen that he has declared state of emergency on food security, Governments are run by policies and best practices and with his kinds of policies we have seen so far, it evident that in no time Nigerians would smile”.

On the assessment of the leadership of the House, Hon Okojie described the speaker of the House of Representatives Rt Hon Tajudeen Abbas, as a humble man who has achieved a lot before becoming a speaker, he described his leadership as excellent and expressed confidence on his leadership, “so far the house has been stable, everyone is happy and I’m looking forward to working with him”, he said.

Hon Okojie, also expressed his satisfaction on the leadership of the House, under the ruling of the Majority leader, Hon Julius Ihonvere, who he sees as a father figure. He further added that he is not surprised at the pase of the achievement of the House, and ascribed it to the antecedents of the leaders.
