More Nigerians are living in despair, as threats of kidnapping and other security issues rise.

The Kidnappers of school children and teachers in south-west Ekiti State, Nigeria, have threatened to take unknown actions if their demands are not met. They are asking for 100m naira as ransom for their release.

Five pupils and four teachers were abducted last Monday

Proprietor of the Apostolic Faith Group of Schools, Gabriel Adesanya about 20 pupils were in the vehicle during the abduction.

“Many of the parents cannot even afford one-tenth of the money. It’s a pathetic situation for the school and the community. We have not been able to resume classes since the attack”, he said.

One of the students who was on the bus during Monday’s attack the incident happened after school hours.

He said they were ordered by the kidnappers get down fromthe bus before selecting the targets they wanted to take along.

Nigeria’s President, Bola Tinubu called for the immediate release of the victims, saying that such incidents will not recur.

Also, security chiefs have been invited to appear before the Nigerian Senate next week over the spate of insecurity in the country.
