The Nigerian Ministry of Health and Social Welfare say it remains committed to the safety and protection of medical professionals in the country, as it appreciates their bravery and dedication to duty.
The Ministry also pledged its continuous support to closely work with security agencies in ensuring a safe environment for all medical practitioners working under demanding circumstances.
Recently, two medical personnel were kidnapped but, later released after security operatives swung into action to secure their freedom.
The Ministry in a statement signed by its Head of Information & Public Relations, Balogun Alaba, and issued on Friday, commended “the unwavering efforts and collaboration of security agencies in securing the release of Dr. Ganiyat Popoola and Master Folaranmi Abdul-Mugniy”.
“Their safe return brings immense relief to the entire healthcare community, who have demonstrated remarkable resilience and unity throughout this challenging period”, the statement further revealed.
While adding that it will continue to prioritize policies and partnerships aimed at enhancing security measures and creating a safe, supportive working environment for healthcare workers across the country, the Ministry further posited that it remains resolute in supporting the well-being, safety, and security of those on the front lines of healthcare service delivery.
