The Nigerian government has vowed to ensure justice for a 19 year old Nigerian student killed in Canada.
Chairman of Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, (NIDCOM), Abike Dabiri-Erewa, described the alleged killing as “wicked”.
“NIDCOM received the news with shock. We are in touch with the Nigerian Mission in Ottawa and given its assurance that the Canadian authorities have promised to begin investigation into the unfortunate incident”, a statement issued on Thursday by the Director of Media and Public Relations and Protocol, NIDCOM said.
“We offer our deepest condolences to the family and friends of Afolabi and pray unto God to allow his gentle and innocent soul rest in perfect peace”, it added.
