THE Nigerian Minister of Women Affairs has called for a full investigation over the death of a woman who died as a result of domestic violence.
Barr. Uju Kennedy was led to the home of the deceased where she was welcomed by the family, whom she assured of her commitment to ensure proper investigation is carried out for justice.
In a statement issued by the Media Aide to Minister of Women Affairs, Musa Abdulrahaman, the Minister proceeded to the Federal Capital Territory Police Command, where she met the Commissioner of Police, Ben Igweh. He called for the family to remain calm and law abiding, while a comprehensive investigation is going on.
He further said an autopsy will be carried out by an experienced pathologist to assist in investigations.
The Director-General of the Dr. Maryam Babangida Women Centre, Dr. Asaebe Bashir, commended the Commissioner of Police and the Minister of Women Affairs for their unwavering support and dedication to seeking protection and justice for Nigerian women.
