Mr. Obi contested and lost the 2023 Presidential election, an exercise he described was marred by irregularities.

Abuja – July 18 (Mediaage NG) – The Presidential candidate of Labour Party (LP) at last February’s general election, Peter Obi has thrown a dig at the Nigerian state which he described as “deplorable”.

On his twitter handle, Mr. Obi revealed this as he prepares to celebrate his 62nd birthday.

“Wednesday 19th July 2023, marks my 62nd Birthday, Obi tweeted.

“While I remain immensely grateful to God for His infinite mercies, I still maintain my decision of over 20 years, that I will not celebrate my birthdays in today’s Nigeria, with the current deplorable state of the nation”.

Obi, a former governor of Anambra State, contested and lost the 2023 presidential election where he came third. However, at the election tribunal, Mr. Obi is challenging the verdict that announced Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the winner.
