President Bola Tinubu has pledged his administration’s support for Nigerians in diaspora, describing them as assets that can play active roles in stimulating the country’s economic transformation.
He said his administration’s reformative policies are pivotal for Diaspora-driven investments crucial for the country’s growth.
He urged entrepreneurs to make the most of the reforms and create employment opportunities.
“The Diaspora plays a critical role in any nation’s development. You are an indispensable asset to our great nation”, President Tinubu, represented by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Sen. George Akume said at the 7th Nigerians in Diaspora Investment Summit, in Abuja, on Tuesday.
“You are not only ambassadors of Nigeria but torch-bearers of excellence and innovation.
“Let me assure you that Nigeria is open for business; we are committed to providing the support and enabling environment you need to invest with confidence.
“Together, let us forge partnerships that will drive progress and prosperity for our nation”, Mr. Tinubu said.
While revealing that his government is ready to make provisions for ideas to be turned into reality, he called on the Diasporas to leverage their global expertise and resources to bridge Nigeria’s development gaps.
He assured participants that the sectors being highlighted at the Summit: Finance, ICT, Agribusiness, Healthcare, Real Estate, Manufacturing, or Energy, are already experiencing ongoing reforms designed to attract investments.
“There are vast investment opportunities waiting to be tapped, and with our focused approach to sectoral reforms, we can assure immense returns for those willing to invest and contribute to our nation’s growth”, he stated.
The Director General, Directorate of Technical Cooperation in Africa, DTCA, Ambassador Rabiu Dagari said the Diasporas are focal to fostering economic resilience that can drive Nigeria forward.
“Our nation stands at a pivotal juncture, where both stability and sustainable growth are imperative and paramount, he posited.
“The Nigerian Diaspora, one of the country’s greatest assets, plays a central role in shaping this future. As a reservoir of talent, resources, and innovation, the Nigeria Diaspora are key to fostering economic resilience and driving Nigeria toward long term prosperity”, he added.
The Chairman, NiDCOM, commended the Diaspora investors who have consistently chosen to invest in the businesses of local entrepreneurs and in the prosperity of our nation.
“This commitment does not only highlight the deep spirit of patriotism that exists among our Diaspora community but, a testimony that the Diaspora are an indispensable ally in the quest for national development”, Abike Dabiri Erewa stated.
