The official YouTube channel of disgraced televangelist, TB Joshua has been terminated for violating its hate speech policies.
Emmanuel TV channel which has more than 500,000 followers played a key role in his rise to a global figure, was removed, weeks after an investigation by the BBC and openDemocracy revealed evidence of torture and widespread sexual abuse by the late preacher.
The channel has hundreds of millions of views globally.
From a local church, the late TB Joshua became a world star through the many miracles and revelations he presumed to make. But, following investigations by the BBC and Openday Democracy, it was uncovered that many of them were fake.
The late preacher died in 2021, but his wife , Evelyn Joshua now runs the Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN).
The church has always denied the allegations of wrongdoing. They say the accusations are “unfounded” and has not commented on the removal from YouTube.
In the last three years, this is the second time its YouTube channel has been suspended, after previous breaches of the platform’s community guidelines.
Emmanuel TV’s satellite channel was dropped on January 17, 2024 by MultiChoice, a South African company that runs popular satellite services DStv and GOTv.
For many years, Emmanuel TV has been one of the successful channels that broadcast messages globally.
